Import Members Excel spreadsheet template
Please note: Member Wizard offers a FREE upload of your members. We suggest that you avail yourself of this service rather than attempting the task yourselves as we are able to immediately delete the uploaded spreadsheet and reload it if a problem occurs. You do not have access to delete all members at once, it must be done by Member Wizard. If you upload members a second time they do not copy over the existing membership, they duplicate it.
Set up of your spreadsheet prior to importing
The fields on the attached spreadsheet are the fields you can upload into in Member Wizard. The only mandatory field is the Last Name field. To facilitate the upload of your members please ensure your member spreadsheet is in this format.
Regarding Custom Fields. Import them as Text fields then go to Settings/Custom Fields, highlight the field and then you can change it in to one of the following:
Short Text
Date
Yes/No
Email Address
Long Text (eg a comments field)
Family memberships
If you offer a family or couples membership we suggest that you repurpose the Organisation standard field in Member Wizard. This field can be renamed Family Group and has the advantage of being able to be ticked at the top of the Member List so that you can then sort families into their groups easily.
Simply rename the Organisation field, add it to your member form layout and also you new member application layout.
Create two membership types. One called Primary Family Member with the full cost of the Family membership and the second called simply Family Member which the other family members will use with a 0 cost associated with it.
Then insert the primary member surname field in the renamed field for each of the family members (as they may not necessarily share a surname). In this way only the primary member will be invoiced.
