Setting Up Google Analytics on your website

Assuming website you wish to monitor is - https://adelaideu3a.org.au

1.   Logon to Google analytics (or create a new Google Analytics Account) you should see the Home page then select Admin.

2. Click on Create Property

3.  Update Name and Time Zone as necessary then click NEXT then update Business details

4.  Update Business Objectives and click CREATE

5. On the Start Collecting data page select Website then enter your website URL

6. You then see the Measurement ID – Copy this and paste into the Web template under Google Analytics – you also have to publish the Web template to Live  for the stats to start. 

7. You then see this – ignore the Data collection message and ignore the View tag instructions.

8. It can take at any time from 30 minutes to 48 hours after the web site is copied to LIVE to start seeing stats.

From Home you should now see the property 

NOTE: if you want to retreive the data stream code you need to go back into Admi then into Property and then into Data Stream
